Born in Osaka, Japan, Atsuko Seta resides in Poland as an Honorary Citizen of Szczawno-Zdroj. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of the Szczawno International Chamber Music Festival and the Chiangmai Ginastera International Music Festival.
A graduate of Osaka Kyoiku University, Atsuko Seta completed a postgraduate course before embarking on her career as a pianist under the mentorship of the renowned Argentine pianist Eduardo Delgado.
In 1996, she won the top prize at the Masterplayers International Music Competition in Italy, where her exceptional talent was recognized by Maestro Richard Schumacher, the conductor and president of the competition. Schumacher described her as follows: "This phenomenal Japanese pianist has played to standing ovations. One of the greatest pianists I have ever heard!" (Richard Schumacher, Agenda Swiss).
Since this achievement, Atsuko Seta has performed extensively worldwide, including in Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, France, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, the United States, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Ukraine and Isurael among other countries. Since 2016, she has been serving with distinction as the Artistic Director of the Chiangmai Ginastera International Music Festival in Thailand, where she also holds the title of Honorary Professor at Payap University.
Atsuko Seta is particularly celebrated for her mastery in performing the works of the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera. In 2024, she established the Ginastera International Society, where she continues to serve as Director, furthering her dedication to promoting Ginastera's music.
